Ohmygosh.  Felix Sanchez.  This guy made me cry when he cried….

At the Beijing Olympics, the morning of the preliminary heat, he got the news that his grandma had died.  He ran, but ended up doing horribly.  He cried the whole day.  He vowed that he would win a medal for her before he retired.  And today in London, he won the gold.  That picture on the ground is of himself and his grandma.

Okay, now I’m crying too… he’s such a good man.

Olympic Commentary of the Day: An Irish commentator takes on Olympic sailing (and its spectators) and the result is uproarious.

This guy is more than worth three minutes of your full attention.

(Not Safe For Work —  hilarious expletives.)

THIS IS FOR EVERYONE.

We cannot forget that a generation of hackers created something that they gave away to the world for free for everyone to use and we took that and spawned marvelous new art, economies, and communities.
TimBL could have patented the web browser, he could have licensed the web, he could be one of the richest men in the world. But instead, he thought maybe everyone should have equal and free access to it. Imagine how different the world would be if it weren’t for that decision.
I teared up a bit when they honored him in London yesterday.

Exactly.

Hackers? O_o

Independent Olympic Athletes at the London Olympics 2012

These folks aren’t with any country, and they have the most swag.

Two are from a recently dissolved country.  But, on a more somber note, one is from the Sudan but refused to represent them after many of his family members were killed by Sudanese government sponsored forces and he himself was sent to a labor camp.

People like this give me hope. Despite having a really rough life, they are not letting it show.
